Goodbye Denture, Hello Fixed Bridgework

September 19, 2018

There's a tendency to think that dental implants are the only fixed alternative to dentures for replacing missing teeth. Fixed bridges also have a place in the replacement of missing teeth with the treatment being quicker in the majority of cases, costs less and involving less invasive treatment with less of a recovery period. When a Maryland bridge is not an option then conventional fixed bridgework can often be used. The teeth on either side of the gap are prepared by the same process used for crowns, an impression taken and temporary coverings placed until the finished article is ready to fit 1-2 weeks following the preparation appointment. Fixed bridges essentially look like  a series of adjacent porcelain crowns with excellent aesthetics and the main advantage of being permanently fixed in the mouth. If you would like to discuss replacing missing teeth with a fixed option then phone 01324 682222 for a consultation appointment and we can discuss your options and answer any questions you may have
