NHS DENTISTRY

When you contact us to register as a new NHS patient, we will take some personal details such as:-

  • Your full name

  • Date of Birth

  • Your Address and Postcode

  • A Contact Telephone Number

We will then offer you an appointment, at a time that suits you, to come in for a full dental check-up.

AT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

YOUR FIRST DENTAL CHECK-UP

We will welcome you at our reception and ask you to fill out a confidential medical history form.

This ensures your dentist knows about any medical conditions you may have and any medication you are taking.

We will also ask you to sign a form to complete your NHS registration.

You will then be seen by your dentist for your initial check-up.

During your check-up, your dentist will:-

  • ask about any health problems you have had

  • examine your mouth, teeth and gums

  • take x rays of your teeth if indicated

  • tell you if you need any treatment

  • tell you how to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy

If you need treatment, your dentist will:-

  • Explain your options, detailing nhs treatments and alternative options if feasible

  • Give you a treatment plan, detailing what treatment is needed and an estimate of the costs.

AFTER YOUR FIRST DENTAL CHECK-UP

After your appointment, we will offer you another appointment if you need to return for treatment or advise you of your next 6 monthly check-up appointment.
